Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month Across the Valley

From September 15 to October 15, it’s time to turn up the fun and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month! Here in the Valley, where more than 30% of Maricopa County’s population is Latino, we’ve got plenty of fantastic ways to honor and enjoy the beauty of Latino culture. So grab your friends, bring the family, and let’s dive into some of the best events happening right here in our community!


🎨 Hispanic Heritage Month at the Children’s Museum of Phoenix

Let the kids get creative with hands-on activities like crafting their own Frida Kahlo self-portraits or diving into the colorful artwork of Esmeralda Garcia Torres. From October 2-8, there’s even more fun in store, including traditional folk dance performances on October 12. It’s the perfect spot for some family-friendly cultural fun!

Mexican Baseball Fiesta

Who’s ready for some baseball with a fiesta flair? Cheer on some of Mexico’s best teams from Liga Arco Mexicana del Pacífico as they play under the Arizona sky. And this isn’t just about the games – enjoy live concerts, dance performances, and a whole lot of delicious eats. Games kick off in Phoenix and continue through Tucson in early October.

💃 Somos Peoria – It’s Time to Dance!

Somos Peoria is the party you need in your life! With live performances from bands like Latin Breed, Pacific Mambo Orchestra, and Fayuca, plus stunning ballet folklórico, lucha libre, and arts and crafts, it’s a full-on fiesta that’s perfect for the whole family.

🎺 25th Annual Mariachi and Folklórico Festival – A Chandler Tradition

Mark your calendars for October 5 because Chandler’s Mariachi and Folklórico Festival is back for its 25th year! This year’s lineup includes the legendary Leyendas del Mariachi, along with jaw-dropping performances from Ballet Folklórico Quetzalli-AZ. If you love music, dance, and all things mariachi, this is the event for you.

🪅 Fiesta Grande in Surprise

Head to Surprise for a night packed with action and fun! There’s something for everyone – lucha libre, a car show, piñata busts, and even a fireworks display to cap off the evening. This family-friendly celebration will have you smiling from ear to ear.

🌳 Hispanic Heritage Month at the Desert Botanical Garden

For something a little more peaceful (but no less exciting), check out the special events at the Desert Botanical Garden. On October 5-6, celebrate Oaxaca’s Indigenous traditions with Guelaguetza. Then, try your hand at Lotería Night on October 10 for a fun twist on bingo.


🌯 Tempe Tardeada – A Flavorful Fiesta

Calling all foodies! The Tempe Tardeada is bringing the flavors of Mexico to the Valley with a tortilla-making demonstration, food vendors, live entertainment, and plenty of activities for the kiddos. It’s the perfect way to wrap up Hispanic Heritage Month in style.
