Father-Son Team Todd and Kramer Pope Bring Community-Driven Success to Ahwatukee!

Ahwatukee is full of small businesses, but only some showcase community spirit. One such business is Absolute Pest Solutions, run by Todd and Kramer Pope, a father-and-son team. Their family-owned pest control company isn’t just about quality service—it’s about building relationships and supporting their neighbors.

Todd has over 20 years of experience in the pesticide and herbicide industry. He started by selling pesticides and equipment to large fleet companies, golf courses, and agricultural markets. He then worked with pest control companies and homeowners to handle all kinds of pest problems. In 2016, he launched his first business, Madjak LLC, and by 2022, he and his son Kramer teamed up to start Absolute Pest Solutions.  Their goal? To offer top-tier pest control with a personal touch, treating every home like their own.
“Our growth really took off thanks to the support of the Ahwatukee community, especially through the Ahwatukee411 group,” Todd shared. “We couldn’t be more grateful for the trust and encouragement we’ve received.”

Absolute Pest Solutions offers a variety of services, including organic pest control, weed management, and turf care. These services are designed with quality and environmentally friendly options in mind. Todd’s years of experience, combined with Kramer’s fresh approach, create a winning team that prioritizes its clients above all.

But it’s not just about business for Todd and Kramer. They’re dedicated to giving back to the community. Whether supporting Hope for the Homeless, partnering with local spots like Zzeeks Pizza and The Buzzed Goat, or teaming up with small businesses like Lavish Loaf and Jill Dames, Realtor, their focus is on strengthening local connections.

This Saturday, November 23, we’ll be at the Lights Up Ahwatukee Festival at Desert Foothills Park! Stop by our booth to check out deals for 2025 and enter our raffle. We’re giving away 1 year of free pest control to a vet, single-parent households, first responders, and teachers. We’ll also be collecting canned goods for Hope for the Homeless -your donations make a difference.

Together, Todd and Kramer are proving that a business built on quality, trust, and community care can make all the difference—not just for homes but for the Heart of Ahwatukee.

An Interview with Todd and Kramer of Absolute Pest Solutions

1. What inspired you to work together as a father-and-son team, and what do you enjoy most about working alongside family?

Todd (Dad): “With Kramer turning 19, I needed help with the business, and I knew I could trust Kramer. Working with family allows us to build a strong relationship, and thankfully, we rarely butt heads.”

Kramer (Son): “Before joining my dad, I worked at a dry cleaner and Urban Air. When my dad first asked me to work in the business, I was iffy about joining, but then I fell in love with it.  I’m here to support him and to learn everything I can for the future,”

2. What’s a typical day like in the pest and weed control business, and what do you find most rewarding or challenging about the work?

Todd: “A typical day in the pest industry starts early—especially in the summer. I’m up by 6 AM to beat the heat and get to work while pests are most active. The most challenging part of the job? Definitely scorpions.”

Kramer: “For me, the toughest challenge is the summer heat. It burns you out real quick. What I find most rewarding is to see the results and customer satisfaction from our work and to know we’re helping keep people’s homes/yards pest and weed-free.”

3. What are some of the biggest pest issues in the Ahwatukee area, and how do you address these challenges?

Todd: “The biggest pest challenges in this area are the scorpions. Most are found in bathrooms, block walls, and river rock areas. Our service precisely targets these specific locations, ensuring we eliminate the problem at its source.”

4. What do you love most about the Ahwatukee community?

Todd: “I love the generosity of the local businesses and the sense of connection it brings. Ahwatukee has that unique ‘big small town’ feel, and I’m grateful for the support this community has shown me as a former single dad and now as a small business owner working alongside my son.”

Kramer: “I’ve lived here my whole life, so this is home for me. I love how supportive the community is to small businesses and how the community feels like one big family. Working here, I’ve learned a lot-both good and bad, about building strong relationships with customers and I value the connections we’ve made.”
