What a beautiful day for a parade and Spring togetherness! Celebrating the 49th Annual Kiwanis Easter Parade and Spring Festival, it was everything we love about this community—joyful, connected, and full of heart.

Each year, 48th Street transforms into a lively celebration of spring, neighbors, and tradition. From the colorful floats and marching bands to smiling families lined along the sidewalks, this event continues to bring Ahwatukee together in the best way possible. And we have the Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee to thank for that.

Founded in 1982, the Kiwanis Club has been at the heart of our community for over 40 years. They’ve been hosting the Easter Parade for nearly five decades, and it remains one of their biggest annual fundraisers. As they say themselves, “We know what it means to be a volunteer, and what it takes to make a difference.” And it shows.

This year’s parade was packed with marching bands, horses, VIPs, contest winners, color guards, antique cars, and so many amazing local businesses joining the fun. One of the new faces this year was Alexa’s Piano Studio, and they definitely made a great first impression.

“This was our first time participating in the Kiwanis Easter Parade, and it was such a wonderful experience,” shared Alexa. “The weather was perfect. My students were so excited to perform, and everyone from the crowd and parade participants were all so enthusiastic. We’re definitely looking forward to doing it again next year!”

Longtime local businesses also showed up with pride, like State 48 Garage, who were back for their second year.

“We absolutely love seeing all our friends and neighbors in the community,” said Amber, owner of State 48 Garage. “It’s a joy to have so many families come up to us and thank us for helping with their garage doors—and the feeling is mutual! We’ve also been on the receiving end of amazing service from others here. We just love it here. God has truly blessed us.”

And of course, the celebration didn’t stop with the parade. Over at Ahwatukee Community Park, the Spring Festival was in full swing! Families enjoyed bounce houses, food trucks, an egg hunt, arts & crafts, games, face painting, vendors, and a packed entertainment stage—all free to the public.

It was the perfect way to spend a sunny spring afternoon surrounded by familiar faces and great local energy.

We’re so thankful for the businesses that helped make this event special, like Integrity Carpet Cleaning, Brewer’s Air Conditioning & Heating LLC, Cuties Lemonade, and so many more who support and show up for the community year after year.

To the Kiwanis Club of Ahwatukee: Thank you! For the love you pour into this event, for the memories you help create, and for keeping this beautiful tradition alive for 49 years and counting. We’re already counting down to year 50. 💛
