Local Ahwatukee Girl Scout Troop and Valley Businesses Join Forces to Donate Over 1900 Cookies to St. Vincent de Paul
In a heartwarming display of community spirit, one Ahwatukee Girl Scout and 20 Valley-based businesses came together to donate a remarkable 1900+ boxes of Girl Scout cookies to St. Vincent de Paul. This act of generosity aims to support those in need, with the cookies being distributed by SVdP to assist thousands of individuals and families throughout the state.
The initiative was spearheaded by Dave Burns, the Founder of Burns Pest Elimination, who enlisted the support of fellow business owners, many of whom are members of the Executives Association of Greater Phoenix. Together, they purchased the impressive quantity of cookies from local Girl Scout Eva Riley of Troop 3886, ensuring a substantial contribution to SVdP’s mission of providing assistance with feeding, clothing, and housing to those in need year-round.
Collaborative Effort: Businesses Rally for a Cause
On Monday, March 18th, Dircks Moving & Logistics facilitated the delivery of the cookies to St. Vincent de Paul using a moving truck. This generous donation will undoubtedly bring joy to many recipients served by SVdP and highlights the power of collaboration in making a positive impact on the community.
“This is something special we do every cookie season to give back, and this year we donated a record amount to St. Vincent de Paul,” expressed Dave Burns. “To see the Dircks moving truck pull up to deliver thousands of cookies is quite the sight, and we are beyond grateful to be able to make such an impact for our surrounding communities.”
The businesses involved, including Accram IT, Banker Insulation, Biddle and Brown Fence Co., Creative Packaging & Print, and many others, demonstrated their commitment to corporate social responsibility by participating in this meaningful initiative. Their collective effort underscores the importance of supporting local charitable organizations and uplifting those facing hardships.
Gratitude and Impact: SVdP Receives Record Donation
“We are incredibly grateful for this outstanding donation that has grown in the past few years,” remarked Pat Donaldson, SVdP Chief Operating Officer. “We love seeing the faces of the families and individuals we serve when they receive these cookies to enjoy. Delicious donations like this are so meaningful and brighten the day of many.”
This inspiring collaboration between a local Girl Scout troop and businesses exemplifies the spirit of community generosity and solidarity in Ahwatukee and the greater Phoenix area. Through their collective efforts, they have made a significant difference in the lives of those served by St. Vincent de Paul, spreading joy and kindness throughout the community.
